Finally pulled my first @7thwardfarm #Christmas melon, also known as the Santa Claus melon or Toad Skin Melon or its original Spanish name Piel de Sapo. It’s said to be a winter melon celebrated for its exceptionally sweet flavor and long shelf life. It earned its festive holiday name because its thick, protective rind allows it to stay fresh at room temperature for up to three months after harvest, making it a fresh fruit treat easily preserved until December!
